Kollektivknappen Terms
1. Provider and scope
These Terms cover Kollektivknappen, software required for the service, and kollektivknappen.com. The service is provided by Asadi Dev, Havnegata 101B, 3040 Drammen, Norway.
These Terms do not govern a separate public-transport contract, ticket, or transport service. Operators, app stores, operating systems, and external services have their own terms.
2. Acceptance and eligibility
An administrator prepares the account before Kollektivknappen is sent to you. Before first use, you must read and accept the current Terms. Read the Privacy Policy too; it explains how information is processed. Your acceptance of the Terms is stored with your account. If you cannot enter into this agreement yourself, a parent, guardian, or other person with the required authority must accept on your behalf.
An account does not automatically grant access to the physical Kollektivknappen. The features require an administrator to enable access for the account, a supported phone, required permissions, and local pairing with a compatible button. Some features may be available only in certain countries, on certain platforms, or with certain app versions.
3. What Kollektivknappen does
Kollektivknappen is a physical, portable and tactile button designed primarily for blind and low-vision passengers. It provides simple and direct access to relevant public transport information and assistance during a journey. Software on the user's phone is used where necessary for setup, the account, permissions, and delivery of the service.
The service supplements official travel information and personal judgement. It does not sell tickets, operate vehicles, determine transport services, or provide an emergency, alarm, or safety-critical service.
4. Account and security
- Provide an email address you are entitled to use and keep it available for sign-in links.
- Do not share account links, and notify us if you suspect misuse. You do not use a password in Kollektivknappen.
- Use your existing passenger account if you already have one; do not create multiple accounts to bypass access or security limits.
- You must have the right to use a username or profile image you choose. It must not impersonate another person, infringe rights, or be used for harassment or unlawful content. The username must also follow the current rules.
You remain signed in on this phone while the secure session is valid. If the session is lost or the app is reinstalled, request a new sign-in link. Use the contact form to request account deletion or export.
6. Permissions and background use
- Bluetooth is used to discover, pair, and communicate with a compatible physical Kollektivknappen.
- Location is used only for the purposes explained in the app and Privacy Policy, including fresh journey information and actions from the Kollektivknappen.
- Notifications are used for functional notices you enable. Android may also show a persistent system notice while help from Kollektivknappen runs in the background.
Background features depend on the operating system, phone model, battery settings, network, and permissions. Android Force stop and force-quitting on iPhone can prevent actions from the Kollektivknappen until the app is reopened. We do not guarantee that the operating system will always permit a background action to run.
7. Public-transport data and journey choices
Kollektivknappen uses data from Entur and transport sources made available through Entur. Scheduled, estimated, and real-time information may be delayed, incomplete, changed, or incorrect, and coverage varies between areas and operators.
Check critical journey information with the operator, at the stop, and through official channels. Follow instructions from drivers, operators, and authorities. Do not rely on Kollektivknappen alone to catch a departure, make a connection, or alight at the correct place.
When you select a specific departure or planned journey, the service may create a limited onboard status automatically for the current leg at the selected quay from fresh vehicle and phone positions. This may also happen when sharing is off so that onboard guidance can work. If you choose to share, your username and profile image may be shown to people covered by your sharing choice. Location errors can create an incorrect onboard status; end the selected departure or journey if you did not board. You can change or withdraw sharing without ending guidance, and the service may end the status automatically when reliable journey information shows that the session finished. A displayed status does not guarantee that another person sees it and must not be used as the sole basis for a safety-critical decision.
8. Signals, announcements, and speech
A boarding or alighting signal is an additional aid that depends on the correct selected departure or journey, fresh location, available transport data, network, the service, and a connection to an eligible driver. A ready signal does not mean that the driver saw, understood, or acted on it and does not guarantee that the vehicle will stop.
Announcements may come from a driver or another external source and may be incomplete or outdated. App-owned speech depends on the phone's text-to-speech engine, selected language, audio settings, and installed voices. Always read important messages together with official information.
9. Acceptable use
- Use the service lawfully and for its intended passenger and accessibility purposes.
- Do not disrupt, scan, overload, bypass access controls, automate misuse, or attempt to obtain another user's information.
- Do not manipulate the Kollektivknappen or information about a signal or journey to mislead a driver, user, or the service.
- Use the phone and Kollektivknappen safely in traffic and without obstructing other passengers or staff.
- Do not use a username or profile image containing sexually explicit or graphic violent content, hate speech, threats, harassment, discrimination, or another person's personal information without the right to do so.
- Do not send unlawful, abusive, or sensitive content to support.
Your username and profile image may be shown to others when you share onboard status. If you become aware of a username or profile image that breaks these rules, you can report it through the contact form. Give enough information for us to find the matter, but do not send unnecessary sensitive information. We review such reports and may remove content or restrict access where needed.
Report through the contact form
We may restrict or suspend access where needed for security, operations, legal requirements, or a material breach of these Terms. Where reasonable and lawful, we explain the reason and provide a way to contact us.
10. Third-party services
- Entur and transport operators are responsible for their own data and services.
- When the app is made available through Apple App Store or Google Play, the store controls distribution, updates, compatibility, and its own account or payment relationships.
- The phone manufacturer and operating system control Bluetooth, location, notifications, background execution, and accessibility features.
- External links open a service we do not control. Its terms and privacy rules apply when you leave Kollektivknappen.
Names of data sources, platforms, and providers identify required integrations only. They do not mean those parties endorse, market, or guarantee Kollektivknappen.
Data made available by Entur — External information about Entur's open public-transport data and services.
Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD) 2.0 — The licence applies to relevant open data used by Kollektivknappen through Entur.
11. Availability and service changes
We work to provide stable operation, but the service may be unavailable because of maintenance, errors, network outages, provider changes, missing data, operating-system limits, or circumstances beyond our control. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We may correct, improve, restrict, or end features. An update may be required for security or compatibility. Material changes affecting the agreement or privacy will be communicated appropriately and require renewed acceptance where the law requires it.
12. Intellectual property
Kollektivknappen software, the website, text, logo, and other original material belong to Asadi Dev or are used with permission. You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, revocable right to use the service in accordance with these Terms.
You may not copy, sell, distribute, modify, bypass, or attempt to derive protected software or technology in the physical Kollektivknappen, except where mandatory law expressly permits it. Open-source software and external data remain subject to their own licences.
13. Liability and consumer rights
Asadi Dev is liable to the extent required by mandatory law. We are not responsible for errors in external transport data, operator actions, missing coverage, user equipment, or service interruptions outside our reasonable control. Any limitation of liability applies only to the extent permitted by law.
These Terms do not limit mandatory rights under Norwegian consumer, data-protection, or liability law and do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Privacy and ending an account
The Privacy Policy explains what information Kollektivknappen processes, why, for how long, and the rights available to you. Permissions and consent can be controlled as described there.
You may stop using the service. Use the contact form to request permanent deletion of the passenger account or exercise another statutory right.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Norwegian law. This does not remove mandatory protection available to a consumer in their country of residence. We first seek to resolve disputes through direct contact. A consumer may use relevant complaint bodies and bring a claim before a competent court under applicable rules.
16. Changes to these Terms
The current version and effective date appear at the top of this document. We may update the Terms for service, security, or legal changes. Material changes will be communicated before taking effect where required.
If you do not accept revised Terms, you must stop using the affected features. Use the contact form if you need to clarify account or data consequences. Continued use counts as acceptance only to the extent permitted by law and the relevant acceptance mechanism.
